WOMEN OF WAGS MIAMI

 WAGS are wives and girlfriends of professional athletes.

 In WAGS, they have hierarchy; there are Queens (whatever that means), Wives, Fiancés, Girlfriends and so on as described by Olivia of WAGS LA. In WAGS, the women all aspires to be wives.

I want to look at the lifestyles of these women of WAGS, either real or acting for the sake of the reality show. It is in line with my short novel “Make me happy as a Woman”. 

As WAGS, people believed they live the high life, but they have their own share of life’s experiences that everyone go through. The women of WAGS are all friends, but some are closer to each other.

Darnell and Ashley

They were to me like sisters. If they aren’t with the other women or their family, you see them making out together always. Towards the end of the season, so many drama unfold which is why I am relating this reality tv series show to how a woman can be happy.

Darnell started the season engaged, but ended it being single and Ashley got married.

Darnell’s problems started when she discussed with her fiancé Reshad of five years with a beautiful daughter to show for it that she wants to become an independent woman. She doesn’t wants to be dependent on anyone anymore. 

This did not sit well with him, saying she wouldn’t have time for the family anymore. How does that relate with being independent and wanting to add to the family? 

As If there ever was indeed a "family" or he has been deceiving her all along and had wanted out. He just used that as an excuse and before we know what was happening, he demanded for the engagement ring he gave her, and the engagement of five years went up in flames.

Darnell proved a strong woman on the outside, though it does hurt inside as she is sometimes really moody on the show. She believed she had to be there for her little girl and she wouldn’t let the break-up affect her. She said she is not defined by that ring on her finger and she really now has to focus on her clothing line and make it a reality.

While Darnell was going through all these turbulent times in her life, things look brighter for her best friend Ashley, Phillip proposed to her. 

They had been engaged also for eight years. He did it in such a romantic way in a very beautiful hotel and Ashley was over the moon. She had been expecting it for a long time. She kept on repeating the words “my fiancée” as if it was a platinum hit song. Darnell actually picked out the engagement ring for her friend because Phillip invited her to go shopping for the ring with him. Phillip surprised Ashley further by inviting all her friends to join them on a get away to celebrate their engagement. Ashley was so excited (what woman wouldn’t be?) as she showed her ring to her friends.

Despite knowing the situation of Darnell’s relationship, Ashley kept on with Phillip this, Phillip that, he was always telling her he wants to spend the rest of his life with her; he is such a good man, blah, blah, blah… At a time, Darnell got so frustrated she had to leave the others and stroll along the beach by herself. Vanessa went after her.

I can tell Ashley practically begged and made Phillip own up until he eventually succumbed and got her an engagement ring she so much wanted. As at the time I am putting this together, they were already man and wife. Well, can we say it is joyousness or selfishness that made her not to care about others feelings especially that of her best friend Darnell.

Ashley got her own part of heartache because her mother in law actually showed her what real life is all about a day to their wedding day. And guess what, she had Darnell’s shoulders to cry on. I love Darnell, she has a big heart and she forgives easily. She started dating again before the season ended, I hope that went well and she should find the happiness that she deserves. She really is a strong woman and she wants to be happy.
